Cast on 48, provisionally. Then knit for 5 inches, stockinette-style. Place stitches on three needles, evenly. Fold in thirds. Knit the stitches from the two needles together for 10 stitches. Cast off 12 stitches. Kitchener stitch the rest of the stitches. Pick up the provisionally held stitches, and repeat the cast off process. Ta-da.
I went to Portland a few weekends ago with Maxime, and I decided to take the long train ride down there to get in 8.5 hours of knitting. How often does life hand you that sort of opportunity to work on a sweater?
It seemed like the greatest idea ever to start knitting right away, which was…
My new york knitting adventure. We went to the Lion brand studio totally the coolest place to go as a knitter i have always been familar with the lion brand yarn company but i never new that they had such a selection. In most stores you can buy basic things from the company such as wool, acyrilic yarn and some specialty fun fur and home spun yarn. But in the studio they have every thing from pur wool to angora all extremely high quality. To make the studio even better though were the employees all of whom were happy charming and so much fun to work with. The studio had a beautiful window scene that was designed, knit, and crotcheted by the studios employees. The CEO’s daughter workied in the studio and the atmospher gave it a a fun family run vibe. All in all one of the greatest yarn stores I have ever visisted. BTW that totally is my mom in the 4th picture.
